International Vedanta Society | Spreading the Eternal Light of Vedanta
About International Vedanta Society
International Vedanta Society (IVS) is a global spiritual organization founded on 19 November 1989 in Guwahati, Assam, India. Dedicated to spreading the timeless wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, IVS has grown to include 18+ centers across India, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, and Indonesia. The Society welcomes all seekers regardless of caste, creed, gender, or religion.
What is Advaita Vedanta?
Vedanta is the culmination of the Vedas — the most ancient scriptures known to humanity. Advaita Vedanta declares that there is only one reality — Brahman — and that the individual Self (Atman) is identical with that supreme reality. This is the philosophy of non-duality and Self-realization. The core teaching: Man is God.
Bhagavan — The Founder
Born in Barishal, Bangladesh, Bhagavan displayed extraordinary spiritual depth from earliest childhood. His realization led Him to establish International Vedanta Society — not as a new religion, but as the awakening of every human being to the truth of their divine nature.
